brunch at pete's

pete's at the basement of hyatt hotel is a cosy italian restaurant and it has one of the best salad bar and soups and pasta. i love the brick wall, checkered table cloth which reminds me of the 70's, but it's a challenge to take pictures with the dim yellow lighting (so if you have any ideas). the ambiance is great though and it feels like a family restaurant 'where everybody knows your name'. happy weekend once again!

  1. adjust white balance? or maybe that didn't work in the past? i would switch to tungsten and if that didn't help custom WB, though i'm not so great at that.

these black and whites are wonderful though!

  4. I like the b/w - this fits very well with the theme. And I really like the small cups that are so sweet.

  6. oy, dim yellow lighting with no natural light is my worst nightmare for food. converting it to b&w is my only trick. but these pics look great! seems like a cozy place.

  7. B&W works well with these pics. In those lighting situations, I usually need to do some heavy white balance adjustments to the whites in lightroom; playing around with the sliders to find a temperature that works well with both the plates and food.

  8. Thanks for liking my black and whites, and checkered tables :)

kitchu, jacqueline and John, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for the tips. I think I need practice with the sliders.
